Regular Services

  • Shorter waits at the stop. Trams will run more than twice as often as trains all day, every day. For example, Shaw and Crompton will be served by 10 trams per hour compared to four trains per hour currently.
  • Trams will take you to a wider range of destinations in central Manchester and further afield, without the need to change.
  • With TIF funding, Metrolink will take you right into Oldham and Rochdale town centres, without the need to use the current train stations on the edge of the towns.
  • Smart new step-free vehicles and new and refurbished tracks will offer a smooth, comfortable and reliable ride.
  • Real-time indicator boards at every stop will tell you when the next tram is due.
  • Well-lit stops, CCTV and personal security officers will make you feel safer.
  • You will be able to use the same smartcards on trams as you use on trains and buses.
