If you’re a bus passenger, what can you expect from TIF?

New orbital links will be introduced every 20 minutes in central areas, allowing residents in places like Cheetham, Lower Broughton and Hulme to make journeys that are not currently easy – for instance to work and leisure opportunities at Salford Quays and Old Trafford. This orbital network will link to a shuttle service into Trafford Park.

  • The new Leigh-Salford-Manchester rapid bus service, will run on dedicated space for 80% of its route on high quality, fast buses, enabling them to operate very reliably without being delayed by general traffic.

There will be a new series of cross city corridors for travel across the centre of Manchester by bus.

  • District centre corridors will improve the services to towns and ‘transport interchanges’ across Greater Manchester.
  • These new investments will build upon the existing network to give a web of high quality bus routes across Greater Manchester.
