Tameside: Train

Tameside is served by routes via Guide Bridge to Rose Hill and Hadfield / Glossop and via Stalybridge to Huddersfield and Leeds. The Department for Transport is committed to providing additional capacity on trains, adding extra carriages for peak services and, where needed, extending station platforms.

Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde, Hattersley and Broadbottom stations will be refurbished. With CCTV installed, real-time passenger information provided, additional seating and shelters, the travel experience will be much improved for passengers.

Real-time passenger updates
Real-time passenger information will be introduced at the majority of train stations, letting people know exactly when their service is due. This information could also be available by text or email, updating passengers on services before they set off.
